YOUR LEAN MASS
Your lean mass consists of your bones, ligaments, tendons, internal organs and muscles. It determines your Basal Metabolic Rate (or BMR) which we all refer to as our metabolism. BMR will let you know how many calories your body needs a day to maintain daily functions. The higher your lean mass the higher your BMR will be.
BODY FAT MASS
We all know how muscle weighs more than fat, but on a scale, you will never know! In this case, if you gain weight and then are tested Hydrostatically, you will know exactly how much lean mass you gained and how much body fat mass you have lost. This is because lean mass sinks and fat mass floats. Remember, your goal is to loose body fat but you do not want to loose lean mass since that is important in maintaining a strong BMR.
BASAL METABOLIC RATE
